This past Saturday, Dad, Ryan, Leah and I were able to attend the Missouri Trappers Association Fur Auction at the Boone County Fairgrounds―which we all enjoyed. As Dad and Leah are licensed fur dealers (in addition to being taxidermists) we were able to park inside the building (a large horse show arena) and out of the cold. The area was set up with an auction area that had a conveyor belt where pelts or frozen whole animals were laid. There were also many tables set up that were full of the seller's furs so we were able to look at the furs before they were actually auctioned. Dad and Leah were both able to purchase some for their taxidermy. The Lord has greatly blessed them in many ways as they are working on taxidermy; and because of their work, we have been able to meet and visit with many people.
As we interact with others, it brings to mind that every time that we (meaning all followers of Christ) are around people, it is an opportunity to be a witness for our Lord and Savior. This witness, though, can only occur when we are allowing the Holy Spirit to guide and direct us and not our own human nature and desires. It is through God's infinite grace that we are enabled to have the strength to surrender ourselves fully to His labor as a bondservant of Christ, ready and willing to be His light.
"Let your light shine before men in such a way that they may see your good works and glorify your Father who is in heaven." Matthew 5:16
