A Month of Photos

~ A photo journal of some of our recent times with the girls ~

Week 1 - Making Greeting Cards

"Who do you know that you think would be blessed by a card of thoughtfulness?"

After a bit of thinking . . . the girls began on their cards for the special someone that had come to mind . . .

Leah helping one of the girls spell what she wanted to write in her card

In progress . . .

Then came our lesson which had these words and definitions as a part of it . . .

As well as this verse which we worked on memorizing:

"but sanctify Christ as Lord in your hearts, always being ready to make a defense to everyone who asks you to give an account for the hope that is in you, yet with gentleness and reverence." 1 Peter 3:15

Memorization time! For this we did the 'erase the words' where after each time we recite the verse together, one or two more words are chosen to be erased until eventually, the board is blank and the girls are reciting the verse on their own.

Reciting the verse together

Week 2 - A Painting Project

Busily painting away . . .

. . . with great care and patience . . .

. . . until the end goal is reached!

Week 3 - Making Lasagna

Layering the meat sauce

Then the noodles and another layer of meat sauce

Top with the cheese and then bake! The girls did a great job making this, and it turned out delicious!

While the lasagna baked, we gathered in the living room for our lesson (which was part of the series that we are working through right now on reading and studying the Bible; this study continued the following week as well.) The girls also wrote out a recipe card . . .

Writing out a recipe card (we were so happy to hear that these three sisters went home and made the lasagna together for their family one evening!)

Week 4 - Planting flower seeds and crocheting

The girls had so much fun planting flower seeds in their little cups! And once the seeds were all planted, it was time for the lesson . . .

And then we crocheted . . .

Working on her washcloth . . . it is looking so nice!

And there is a brief catch-up on some of the special times that we have had with the girls recently!
