Springtime Surprise

Our first flowers of the year are blooming! What a delight it was to discover these tiny irises . . . I always eagerly watch for them, but wasn't expecting them this soon!

  2. How beautiful, dear friend! The Lord's handiwork is so lovely, indeed!
Your new blog header is delightful, Sarah! Did you design it yourself? If so, what program did you use?

    Many Blessings,
    Jenna

  3. What lovely flowers indeed, Sarah. The Lord's handiwork is marvelous.

I just love your new header as well, Sarah. Such a nice variety of shots, and they all paint a little picture of who you are. Nice work!

  4. You've certainly made a lot of changes around here recently, Sarah! I like your new blog design :).

Your past three posts make me look forward to spring even more than I already am! We still have 4-5 feet of snow on the ground right now, so we won't be seeing any irises anytime too soon :). We don't even think about starting seeds until mid-April, and planting in the garden until the end of May or beginning of June! I really enjoyed these posts, they're a glimpse into what we have yet to enjoy!

Is your garden going to be bigger than last year? Hope you have good success!

  5. Oh how beautiful! :o) we had a few flowers come up in the "weed compost pile" so thrilled to snatch them up while hubby was clearing away the compost. They are now replanted and I can't wait for them to bloom! :o)

  6. I love your new header design, dear Sarah! You are so very clever!

What a profound blessing that received an early blossoming lily after such a bleak, snowy winter you have had!

"And God said, Let the earth bring forth grass, the herb yielding seed, and the fruit tree yielding fruit after his kind, whose seed is in itself, upon the earth: and it was so. And the earth brought forth grass, and herb yielding seed after his kind, and the tree yielding fruit, whose seed was in itself, after his kind: and God saw that it was good." (Genesis 1:11-12)

  7. Oh, how pretty, Sarah! I'm so excited for the spring time flowers to start blooming. We don't have any flowers here yet, but I'm sure it won't be that way for very long. It looks like you've been enjoying your new macro lenses (I'm assuming you've been using them for the close-up photos that you've posted recently?).

And your new blog header is so lovely! Did you design it? The photos have such a sweet, country feel about them...I really like it! I think it would be so much fun to live in the country. But we have some nearby our house so, it kind of feels more in the country :)

    Blessings!
    Amy

  10. Hey Sarah! Those flowers are beautiful! We have flowers blossoming around as well. It's hard to believe spring is upon us.

Winter was very interesting with all the snow we got. Well, we didn't get as much as you did...but it sure was enough for us. Glad we all made it through safely! :D Take care!

    Sarah,
I had noticed your absence and was planning on commenting and asking how you all were. I quite understand a period of absence for whatever reasons, and I shall be praying for your family. I do hope you are able to return to blogging soon – I do miss your posts! :)

  18. I would agree, Jenna, the Lord’s handiwork is indeed lovely! So intricate, and so beautiful.

Thank you for your kind words regarding my blog header! Yes, I did design it myself, and I used Microsoft Photodraw. It was fun to make! :)

  19. It is indeed, Betsy! And it is always such a blessing when the beautiful flowers begin blooming again in the spring. What a wonderful time of year!

  20. It has changed quite a bit, Anna! I was feeling ready for something different, and it was so fun to redo everything. :) I am glad that you like the new design!

I hope that your all’s snow is melting now, and that spring will arrive for you soon! After several days in the 70’s and even one in the 80’s here, we’ve had a major weather change and had sleet and freezing rain last night and snow is in the forecast for tomorrow. Winter doesn’t want to make it’s exit quite yet it seems!

Our garden might actually end up being a little smaller this year . . . at least the main garden. We’re going to be moving pretty much all of our vine crops elsewhere so then our main garden won’t need to be as large (which is good since last year some fruit trees were planted in part of it! :) I can hardly wait until planting time!

  21. Aren’t they, though, Nabila?! I just love these flowers . . . they are so delicate, yet so vibrant in color. How exciting to see your first flowers of the year! Even if they did end up growing in the compost pile. :) I hope that they bloom well for you!

  22. Thank you for your kind words regarding my new blog header design, Miss Linda! It was so fun to make. :)

It was indeed a blessing to have these flowers blooming so early . . . and now the daffodils are all in bloom, too, and they are so beautiful. Now if the it could just warm up again! :)

  23. Thank you, Amy! I hope that your flowers are blooming for you now . . . our daffodils just started, and I love seeing their cheery blooms! Yes, I have been enjoying my macro lenses :), and yes, those are what I have used with the really close-up shots that I have been posting recently (in this post, the top photo was without them, and the second one was with one.) It is so fun photographing with them!

Thank you for your kind words regarding my new blog header! Yes, I did design it. :)

It is wonderful living in the country, and what a blessing that you have some ‘country’ nearby your house to enjoy!
