The Heavens Declare the Glory

Last evening after the animal chores were finished, dinner eaten, and the dishes washed, I headed to the living room for a pleasant evening of crocheting and reading . . . only on my way, I happened to look out the window and the outdoors beckoned me to come and try to capture the beauty in a photograph! My attempts did not capture the brilliance and depth in the colors, but they give a taste of the beauty I was able to enjoy last evening while the sun set . . .

"The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament showeth His handiwork." Psalm 19:1

"O LORD, our Lord, how majestic is Your name in all the earth, Who have displayed Your splendor above the heavens!" Psalm 8:1

  1. Oh, Sarah! Those photos are beautiful! The second one has such a stunning sun burst...how wonderful that you were able to capture it on your camera. I'm sure that was very enjoyable to do :) The sunset was amazing last night, and I, too, was called away from my plans in order to attempt to get some pictures of it. Sadly, mine didn't turn out too well, but I may yet have gotten a couple good photos, so I'm thankful :) What a great, great creator our God is. Thanks for sharing the photos!

  2. Where I live, spring has come bursting forth in the form of a profusion of lovely bluebells carpeting verdant fields and delicate pink buttercups spilling over everything. I was just breathing a prayer of thanksgiving at the stunning beauty of nature all around me.

This post simply reinforced those sentiments. Thank you so much! As always, I am so very blessed by your blog, your beautiful photography, and your inspiring thoughts.

  3. That's beautiful, Sarah! What a loving Creator we have to give us all of this beauty!

  4. How beautiful, Sarah! You certainly captured the sunset in a marvelous way! I especially love the second photograph... The Lord's creation is so magnificent!

    Many Blessings,

  5. Goodness! You were there just at the right moment for that photo of the rays of the sun. Beautiful.

  6. Hey Sarah! I love your photos. You take such wonderful pictures. Maybe you and Leah should start printing post cards. The last time I visited your blog, there was snow on those hills. Things look totally different now! When will it be warm enough for you to get your bees? Hope you enjoy your day...we know you plan on being supper busy! Take care. :)

  7. So beautiful...I am going this afternoon to sample a bit of the goodness of God in nature! ;o)

  8. Hi Sarah,
Beautiful photos! I saw the sunset too! It was beautiful here; my son even called me to come outside and see it. :-) God's glory...
    Anne ♥

  9. Thank you, Amy! Yes, it was so enjoyable trying to capture the sunset on my camera. Most of the photos didn’t turn out, but there were a few that did! I have a couple of different lens filters so it was fun experimenting with those.

I am glad that you were able to enjoy the sunset as well and to photograph it! And sometimes the fun is just in trying to capture a good photo rather than actually getting one. :) I hope that some of yours turned out!

You’re welcome in regards to sharing, and may you have a blessed day as well!

  10. It sounds simply lovely where you live, Miss Linda! As I read what you wrote, I could just picture it all, and I have to say, I almost wished that I could be transplanted to Texas for a bit just so I could enjoy the beauty and smell all of those flowers blooming. :) I am glad that you are having the opportunities to enjoy your beautiful springtime!

And I am glad that this post was a blessing to you . . . and thank you so much for your sweet words!!

  11. It was very much so, Miss Sarah! As you shared, what a loving Creator we have to bless us with so much beauty in His creation for us to enjoy. I am so thankful for it!

  12. Thank you, Jenna! I am glad that you enjoyed the photos, and I would agree with you . . . the Lord’s creation is magnificent!

By the way, I love your new profile photo! :)

  13. Thankfully I was able to be out there at just the right moment, Elizabeth! I had to hurry to get my camera in time and get out there, as the moment didn’t last long. :) I surely enjoyed it while it lasted, though!

  14. Thank you, Angie! I am glad that you enjoyed the photos, and thank you for your kind words. :) The scenery sure has changed over the past month hasn’t it?! And in about a month more that view should be very green with the trees leafed out and all. I am looking forward to that!

It will be warm enough to get the bees, but they might be coming a week or two later than what we had originally thought . . . they will be coming, though, and I am very much looking forward to that!

Thank you for your comment, and I hope that you have an enjoyable day as well!

  15. Thank you for your comment, Nabila! And I hope that your afternoon out in God’s beautiful creation was a wonderful and enjoyable time for you. :)

  16. Thank you, Anne! Wasn’t the sunset beautiful? I am so glad that you were able to enjoy it as well.

By the way, I just wanted to let you know that I have been missing your blog posts! :) But I do understand, and I hope that your time away from blogging will be a blessing to you.

Thank you again for your comment! :)

  17. Oh, Sarah! Those pictures turned out *so* good! I especially like the last one. The sun rays are really pretty! Stunning photos, Sarah!

    Many blessings!
