So Thankful to the Lord . . .

. . . that my Dad is all right.

Yesterday morning he wasn't feeling too well and by evening, was wondering if he had appendicitis. What followed was a trip to the emergency room for he and my mom while Leah and I stayed home to do all of the animal chores.

After running some tests, they found that it was appendicitis, and he needed immediate surgery.
The appendix had not burst yet, thankfully, but it wasn't far away from doing so. We were so thankful that the doctor on call was one who is very good at these types of surgeries! He got Dad in right away and the surgery went quickly and smoothly.

Dad was already out of surgery by the time that Ryan, Ashley, Adelyn, Leah and I were able to arrive. Our dear friends, Mr. and Mrs. M. had also gone to the hospital, and it was so nice to have them there. And I am so glad that they went, too, as since they could get there before we could, then Mom didn't have to be there all by herself sitting in an empty waiting room during the surgery.

Late last night then after Dad had spent some time in the recovery room, we were all able to see him for a bit. He was doing great . . . and after a night and morning spent at the hospital, now he is home recovering! It has been a whirlwind past day, and we are so thankful to the Lord for how well things went and that he made it through everything all right!
"Blessed be the Lord, who daily bears our burden, the God who is our salvation . . . an ever present help in trouble." (Psalm 68:19; 46:1)

  6. God bless you all. It is amazing how quickly people come home now. My Pip spent more time in emergency before surgery than after. I pray for a swift recovery and I am thankful that you are all there to support and care for your father.
