A Sunday Hymn ~ Praise Him! Praise Him!

Praise Him! Praise Him! Jesus, our blessed Redeemer!
Sing, O Earth, His wonderful love proclaim!
Hail Him! Hail Him! Highest archangels in glory;
Strength and honor give to His holy Name!
Like a shepherd, Jesus will guard His children,
In His arms He carries them all day long.

Praise Him! Praise Him! Tell of His excellent greatness;
Praise Him! Praise Him! Ever in joyful song!

Praise Him! Praise Him! Jesus, our blessed Redeemer!
For our sins He suffered, and bled, and died.
He our Rock, our hope of eternal salvation,
Hail Him! Hail Him! Jesus the Crucified.
Sound His praises! Jesus who bore our sorrows,
Love unbounded, wonderful, deep and strong.

Praise Him! Praise Him! Tell of His excellent greatness;
Praise Him! Praise Him! Ever in joyful song!

Praise Him! Praise Him! Jesus, our blessed Redeemer!
Heav’nly portals loud with hosannas ring!
Jesus, Savior, reigneth forever and ever;
Crown Him! Crown Him! Prophet, and Priest, and King!
Christ is coming! over the world victorious,
Pow’r and glory unto the Lord belong.

Praise Him! Praise Him! Tell of His excellent greatness;
Praise Him! Praise Him! Ever in joyful song!

Words by Fanny Crosby

~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"It is good to give thanks to the LORD
and to sing praises to Your name, O Most High;
to declare Your lovingkindness in the morning
and Your faithfulness by night . . .
"For You, O LORD, have made me glad by what You have done,
I will sing for joy at the works of Your hands."
Psalm 92:1-2, 4
"Praise the LORD!
Praise, O servants of the LORD,
praise the name of the LORD.
Blessed by the name of the LORD
from this time forth and forever.
From the rising of the sun to its setting
the name of the LORD is to be praised.
The LORD is high above all nations;
His glory is above the heavens."
Psalm 113:1-4
  1. What a beautiful song... a such a joy to sing... praising the Lord for who He is, taking our minds off of ourselves, and lifting up our Lord and Savior.
    Blessings,
  2. Thank you for sharing this beautiful hymn, Sarah! Interestingly, thanksgiving was a central theme during our church meeting this morning!
    Of the many things that we have to be thankful for, our bodies and the constant pumping of our blood and breathing is one thing that has stood out to me recently. If anything is easy to take for granted, I think this might be the easiest!
    In this hymn, there were two phrases that stood out to me: "He our Rock, our hope of eternal salvation" and "Love unbounded, wonderful, deep and strong". How amazing!
    Thank you again for sharing!
  6. It is indeed, Shannon. The words had been running through my mind so often the past few weeks as I have been seeing different things taking place around us. There is so much to praise and thank the Lord for! And as you shared, in doing so, taking our minds off of ourselves and putting them where they should be – on Jesus Christ.
  7. You’re welcome, Anna! That is interesting how thanksgiving was a central theme at your church meeting this morning . . . this hymn ties in so well with that!
    Thank you for sharing those thoughts. They are so true! As you shared, it can be easy to take for granted things such as the life-sustaining functions of our bodies – breathing, heart beating, etc. Yet those are vital for our existence and are God's own design. There is indeed so very much for us to thank the Lord for!
    Those two phrases are wonderful ones! And yes, it is indeed amazing.
    You’re welcome for sharing, and thank you for all that you shared, too!
