Welcoming a New Year

Another year has gone, another year has come . . . 2012 was a wonderful one for us full of so many joys, learning, growth, blessings, sweet friendships, refinement, and much more. The Lord’s mercies, guidance, and enduring faithfulness were again so evident in many ways! As I sit here thinking about the new year (and trying to put thoughts into words!), a poem by Frances Ridley Havergal came to mind and it echoes the desire of my heart . . .

Another year is dawning!
Dear Master, let it be,
In working or in waiting,
Another year with Thee.
Another year in leaning,
Upon Thy loving breast,
Of ever-deepening trustfulness,
Of quiet, happy rest.

Another year of mercies,
Of faithfulness and grace;
Another year of gladness,
In the shining of Thy face.
Another year of progress,
Another year of praise;
Another year of proving
Thy presence "all the days."

--Frances Ridley Havergal

I hope that this next year will be a blessed one for all of you, and one filled

with growth in the Lord for all of us!

. . . that you may be filled with the knowledge of His will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding, so that you will walk in a manner worthy of the Lord, to please Him in all respects, bearing fruit in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God; strengthened with all power, according to His glorious might, for the attaining of all steadfastness and patience; joyously giving thanks to the Father, who has qualified us to share in the inheritance of the saints in Light. For He rescued us from the domain of darkness, and transferred us to the kingdom of His beloved Son, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.
Colossians 1:9-14
