Welcoming Into the World . . .

~ Ava Rose ~

Born: November 10th
Weight: 8 lbs 2 oz.

The Lord has blessed Ryan and Ashley with their third little daughter! You can well imagine the great excitement, joy and thankfulness that we all have had as we welcomed this newest little blessing into the family! Both Ashley and Ava are doing really well for which we are all thankful, and little Ava is so precious!!! It was so very special meeting her yesterday afternoon, and we all relished that time together.

Beautiful Ava

There is much to share and more will be coming later, but I am just a little busy enjoying time with Adelyn and Gracen while they are here staying with us :) . . . right now as I type this post while using my Dad's laptop in our living room, Adelyn is 'reading' a book out loud next to me, Gracen is talking with me, and the three of us just finished singing "Trust and Obey" and "Jesus Loves Me" together. :)

For now, here are some photos that were taken yesterday during our much enjoyed time meeting little Ava!

The first few moments there . . . Adelyn and Gracen were in awe, and Ryan and Ashley were excited to show them their new little sister!

Such a sweet moment!

Adelyn loves her baby sister!  (And Gracen does, too :) Adelyn was very excited all day to be able to see her, and while there, she kept hugging her (so gently!) giving her kisses, and looking into her face with the sweetest loving look. It was precious to watch!

Sweet little Ava . . . a precious blessing from the Lord!

Aunt Leah so happy to be holding her little niece

Leah with all three of her nieces

Holding my precious niece for the first time . . . I loved just looking into her little face . . . much of the time her eyes were flickering open, her little mouth would open in a yawn, and varying expressions were playing across her face.

Adelyn kept giving her hugs and laying her head down on her :)
I loved this time with both of them!

Her eyes opened again while her Grandpa was holding her for the first time and talking with her

Daddy with two of his granddaughters . . . this was a precious moment!

Not the greatest photo, but the first one with Dad and Mom with all of their grandchildren!

There will be more to come later! Adelyn keeps asking, "go see baby sister?" :) . . . we'll be visiting them again at the hospital this afternoon, and we're all very much looking forward to that!

  2. How lovely! What joy can be seen on all your faces. Welcome to baby Ava!
I believe that the name Ava was originally from Latin and means 'like a bird'.

  7. Congratulations on your little niece, Sarah!! I'm so excited for you all. :)

My parents had three girls first and I'm the second/middle one. It's been a lot of fun for us to be the "three girls", and I know Ryan and Ashley's girls will have so much fun together, too!

May God's blessing be upon you as you take care of Adelyn and Gracen during this time and enjoy the newest member of your family!

  10. Oh, how lovely! Congratulations to you all. Ava is a little darling, and how nice for you to have another small niece to cuddle and read to and teach and love! I hope Ashley is well; and as others have said, the big sisters are just adorable!

I know people say this so often, but children grow up SO FAST, don't they! My youngest niece is 3 and a half now, and my sister says there won't be any more coming! Their littleness is a precious thing. It's lovely for you all to have a third little girl in the family :) Happy days for you all.

  18. It is very much so, Elizabeth! And thank you for your kind comment! That is interesting about the origin of the name Ava . . . Ashley mentioned that she had seen that, too, and also that it can mean “bearer of good news.”

  25. Your comment made me smile, Karen! Thank you so much! Well, the post was a little late in coming as Ava Rose decided to take her own sweet time in getting here. :) She was 10 days late which made us all anticipate her arrival all the more!

You are more than welcome in regards to sharing . . . I was excited to be able to! Those photos melt my heart as well, and even more so seeing it in person. It was so precious to watch!

  26. Thank you, Rena! She is indeed . . . and yes, I am loving having another little niece to cuddle and love and am very much looking forward to the special times we’ll have together! Ashley is doing well (albeit quite tired!) and they are all at home now enjoying their new life as a family of five. :)

They do! It is bittersweet at times seeing how quickly Adelyn and Gracen have grown and changed, but so fun, too, to see them growing, changing and learning. With how quickly time goes by, it makes one want to treasure and make the most of every moment! Aww, I am sure you love the times with your niece . . . three and half is a fun age!

  28. It was a bit of a surprise, wasn’t it, Betsy? :) It was a little hard to keep it a secret :) (Ryan and Ashley preferred to wait to share about baby online until after Ava arrived), and I was excited to finally share the news!

Thank you! And yes, the days have been filled with quite a bit of joy and excitement as of late! And you are quite right :) . . . Leah and I are both very much looking forward to those times with these sweet girls!
