Happy New Year!

May you all have a blessed and wonderful New Year!

I came across the below poem recently in my 'favorite quotes' folder on my computer and thought I would share it here as it is fitting as we begin 2019!

Dear Master for this coming year
Just one request I bring:
I do not pray for happiness,
Or any earthly thing—
I do not ask to understand
The way Thou leadest me,
But this I ask: Teach me to do
The thing that pleaseth Thee.

I want to know Thy guiding voice,
To walk with Thee each day.
Dear Master make me swift to hear
And ready to obey.
And thus the year I now begin
A happy year will be—
If I am seeking just to do
The thing that pleaseth Thee.

  1. Amen! I will be putting this in a place I can read it often to help me keep my focus on pleasing and obeying Christ! Great truths for this first day of a new year!

    1. Good idea, Gretchen! I think I will do the same. In fact, I think I will print it off and stick it in my homemaking binder as I will see it often there!

It really spoke to my heart, and I am glad it was a blessing to you as well!
